Smoke - a Tobacco Story / Touring exhibition of the Ethnographic Museum from Zagreb
The exhibition has been produced in collaboration with the Ethnographic Museum in Zagreb.
The exhibition presents 200 objects, many photographs and videos. The objects are mainly from the Smoking Accessories Collection of the Ethnographic Museum in Zagreb. It contains pipes, pipe stems, cigarette holders, tobacco boxes, cigarette boxes, snuff boxes, tobacco pouches, matchboxes, lighters, tongs etc. They were collected continuously since 1921 by museum commissioners, curators, field explorations, citizen donations and purchases. The objects were mainly made in the 19th and 20th centuries in Croatia and neighbouring countries. The oldest object is a 16th century Western type clay pipe.
