The exhibition deals with the tradition of putting up crèches in Dubrovnik churches and homes, drawing attention to the best known and most popular church nativity scenes in Dubrovnik, and who it is that today builds and mounts them. It talks of the reverence for the bambino in Dubrovnik, refers briefly to the historical development of the staging of the Nativity. Several examples of preserved crèches or parts of them from the 18th, 19th and early 20th century are shown, borrowed for the occasion from churches or private owners.
