The collection comprises 166 objects, mainly donated to the museum. On the whole the objects are nautical devices and instruments of the 19th and 20th centuries.
Exhibited in the permanent display are dividers, Davis quadrants, octants, sextants, compasses, barometers, marine chronometers, an inclinometer and other items.
Dividers from the 16th century, a compass, and two 18th century Davis quadrants are particularly valuable.
