The collection contains items of the lace parts of traditional attire from the Dubrovnik area, from Croatia and from neighbouring countries, such as fragments of women’s headgear, breast panels, sleeves, collars and so on.
Of all of them, pride of place goes to women’s headdresses from Konavle (called pokrivače) from the 19th century, decorated with whitework, as well as with needlelace and bobbin lace; this material is presented in the permanent display.
There is a valuable album of patterns for lacemaking (a lace pattern book).
