The collection contains about three hundred objects connected with customs concerning religion, dances and traditional arts in the Dubrovnik area. Most of the museum material consists of painted Easter eggs, decorated in the traditional wax or batik technique, and then coloured red, with natural or artificial pigments.
A smaller group comprises woven palm and olive branches and doves of fig tree pith, related to the blessing of branches for Palm Sunday. The custom of making doves of the pith of the wild fig is most common in Orebić on Pelješac peninsula, although the tradition did also exist in Dubrovnik. Because the sensitivity of the materials, this collection is constantly having to be renewed.
The collection also has traditional musical instruments: gusle; local versions of the lyre, or lijerica; and pipes. The traditional dance called linđo is danced to the sound of the lijerica in Dubrovačko Primorje and in Župa Dubrovačka, but in Konavle, on Mljet and Lastovo, various round dances, or jigs.
