The exhibition "Napoleon's road in Dalmatia - The contribution of the French administration in the development of road construction in Dalmatia at the beginning of the 19th century" shows how the French administration, led by General Marmont, in Dalmatia initiated and realized the construction of certain sections of the so-called "Napoleon's road" which was to run along the entire length of the Illyrian provinces, from Ljubljana to Dubrovnik and further south. The segments that were built during the French administration are today part of the architectural heritage of the Republic of Croatia.
The exhibition presents various archival material related to the construction of roads - maps, plans, drawings, documents and photographic material.
The authors of the exhibition are senior archivist Denis Martinović and archivist Karolina Ražov from the State Archives in Zadar, while the coordinator of the Dubrovnik exhibition is the senior curator of the Dubrovnik Museums Lucija Vuković.
