The exhibition has been produced by Dubrovnik Museums, Archaeological Museum

The Egyptian collection of Dubrovnik Museums numbers two hundred and thirty eight objects, and is the second largest such collection in Croatia. It was created by donations to the Patriotic Museum at the end of the 19th century, and among the well-known donors were the Amerling brothers, Tonko Kurajica and Ivo Nardeli. The collection mainly consists of amulets, statuettes, deities, scarabs and jewellery. Among the objects is a mummy put together of parts of several bodies, the trunk being made of straw.

The exhibition Egyptian Collection of the Archaeological Museum in Dubrovnik was first presented in 2003 in the Rector’s Palace, commemorating the 130th anniversary of the founding of the Patriotic Museum, the forerunner of today’s institution.

At the exhibition in the Archaeological Museum of Narona in Vid, a total of 123 objects from the collection were put on show.
